The Angel of Death Victorious

The Angel of Death Victorious, commonly known as the Haserot Angel, is a bronze sculpture located in the Cleveland Heights, Ohio portion of Lake View Cemetery. It depicts an angel seated on a polished marble base holding an inverted torch, and was created by artist Herman Matzen. The sculpture has become a tourist destination in part for the black "tears" apparent on the angel’s face resulting from oxidation of the metal over time.

Angel

An angel is a spiritual, heavenly, or supernatural entity, often depicted as humanoid with bird-like wings, frequently in the role as a messenger or intermediary between God and humanity in various traditions like the Abrahamic religions. Other roles include protectors and guides for humans, such as guardian angels, and servants of God. In Western belief-systems the term is often used to distinguish benevolent from malevolent intermediary beings.

Death

Death is the end of an organism's life. It is the irreversible cessation of biological functions that sustain a living organism. Entropy, nature's tendency toward disorder, can contribute to the breakdown of living systems over time. Upon death, organisms stop exhibiting behavior and generally begin to decompose through various physical and chemical processes. Death can occur at any stage of development, including in infancy. A person may experience clinical death that is reversible, resulting in some cases in a near-death experience. In humans, establishing death of the brain determines that an individual has irreversibly died.

Victorious is an American teen sitcom created by Dan Schneider that aired on Nickelodeon from March 27, 2010, to February 2, 2013. The series ran for four seasons and produced 57 episodes.
