Ladyfingers (biscuits)

Ladyfingers or Naples biscuits, in British English sponge fingers, also known by the Italian name savoiardi or by the French name boudoirs, are low-density, dry, egg-based, sweet sponge cake biscuits roughly shaped like large fingers. They are a principal ingredient in many dessert recipes, such as trifles and charlottes, and are also used as fruit or chocolate gateau linings, and for the sponge element of tiramisu. They are typically soaked in a sugar syrup or liqueur, or in espresso for tiramisu.

Kirsch

Kirschwasser, or just Kirsch, is a clear, colourless brandy from Germany, Switzerland, and France, traditionally made from double distillation of morello cherries. It is now also made from other kinds of cherries. The cherry stones are included in the fermentation process, not removed beforehand. Unlike cherry liqueurs and cherry brandies, Kirschwasser is not sweet. It is sometimes distilled from fermented cherry juice.

Lady

A lady is a woman who behaves in a polite way. Once used to describe only women of a high social class or status, the female counterpart of lord, now it may refer to any adult woman, as gentleman can be used for men.

Finger

A finger is a prominent, multi-jointed digit on the forelimbs of tetrapod vertebrate animals with prehensile extremities such as humans and other primates, and is typically covered with a keratinized nail to protect the end. Most tetrapods have five digits (pentadactyly), digits that are significantly shorter than the metacarpal/metatarsals, are typically referred to as toes; while digits that are notably elongated are called fingers. In humans, the fingers are opposable and have with two or three phalanges with fairly good flexional range of motion, serving as an important organ of tactile sensation and fine movements, which are crucial to the dexterity of the hands and the ability to grasp and manipulate objects.
