Space Battle

Space Battle is a 1979 video game developed by Mattel Electronics for the Intellivision console. It was released for the Atari 2600 under the title Space Attack in 1982. The game supports both single player and two-player modes. An updated version of the game inspired by Battlestar Galactica was released in 2020.

Space warfare

Space warfare is combat in which one or more belligerents are in outer space. The scope of space warfare includes ground-to-space warfare, such as attacking satellites from the Earth; space-to-space warfare, such as satellites attacking satellites; and space-to-ground warfare, such as satellites attacking Earth-based targets. The 1967 Outer Space Treaty forms the basis of space law; it prohibits permanent basing of weapons of mass destruction, such as nuclear weapons, in space and the military use of celestial bodies but does not prohibit the military use of Earth orbit or military space forces. Independent space forces are operated by the United States and China. Russia operates significant space assets under the Russian Space Forces.

Space

Space is a three-dimensional continuum containing positions and directions. In classical physics, physical space is often conceived in three linear dimensions. Modern physicists usually consider it, with time, to be part of a boundless four-dimensional continuum known as spacetime. The concept of space is considered to be of fundamental importance to an understanding of the physical universe. However, disagreement continues between philosophers over whether it is itself an entity, a relationship between entities, or part of a conceptual framework.

Battle

A battle is an occurrence of combat in warfare between opposing military units of any number or size. A war usually consists of multiple battles. In general, a battle is a series of military engagements that is well defined in duration, area, and force commitment. An engagement with only limited commitment between the forces and without decisive results is sometimes called a skirmish.
