Plasma (physics)

Plasma is a state of matter that results from one of the other three classical states having undergone an appreciable degree of ionization. It thus consists of a significant portion of charged particles. While rarely encountered on Earth, it is estimated that 99.9% of all ordinary matter in the universe is plasma. Stars are almost pure balls of plasma, and plasma dominates the rarefied intracluster medium and intergalactic medium. Plasma can be artificially generated, for example, by heating a neutral gas or subjecting it to a strong electromagnetic field.

Trail

A trail, also known as a path or track, is a dirt road or a small paved road, usually through an undeveloped natural area, that is designed primarily for use by pedestrians, equestrians and non-motorized vehicles, although occasionally some off-roading motor vehicles may also use it. In the United Kingdom and Ireland, footpath or hiking trail is the preferred term. However, it is sometimes applied to highways in North America. In the United States, the term was historically used to describe the westward expansion trails, which are land routes into or through wildness regions of the American West used by explorers and migrants.
